Greatest Motivation: Mentality Shifted by Jennifer Azubuike

I remember 2013, when I left secondary school, I was so glad because I believed I was going to gain admission immediately I left secondary school to any university of my choice to study LAW and LEGAL STUDIES. I made all my waec papers ones, and I was so happy, I was waiting patiently for jamb sales to begin so I can also buy the form, write the exams and smash it as I did waec! Only for my parents to tell me, Oge there’s no money for now, relax, next year you’ll buy the form! At that point I was so angered in my spirit, but what can I do?
I had to consider my dad’s request, I decided to look for a job as a teacher and to the glory of God! I got a job in Blo’mi international montessori here in yenagoa, bayelsa state.

I found favor in the sight of my boss that she even took me as her daughter, as a nursery 1 teacher, I received an unusual salary of 25k from my boss Not minding i was an O’level graduate.

My pupil’s parents were super Amazing and they loved me so much!
My children (my pupil) were the best amongst their mates. For 2years I repeatedly received the award of best staff in the school after 2years I and my parents were able to save up for my education, I took jamb and made 264, meanwhile the cutoff mark was 220 for law in Abia state university.

When the admission list was out, I was so disappointed because I didn’t get LAW instead I was given ‘nonsense mass communication’ I refused accepting the admission my parents went behind me to pay for acceptance fee, hostel fee, school fees and every other fee for that session meanwhile big aunty (me) didn’t know I was busy saying ‘i wee write another jamb, post utme and apply again’ One day, my dad asked me to pack up my things that my big sis will direct me on how to get to ABSU UTURU I grudgingly accepted.

My first semester’s result was nonsense because I was studying the mass communication with the mentality that it’s not my calling, ABSU has changed my destiny After first semester, i came back home for holiday and i was opportuned to have a heart-to-heart talk with my Godfather, who encouraged me and shifted my mentality to the positive side. My parents too were amazing! So i went back to school the next semester, picked my Admission letter (from jamb and school) and prayed fervently that God will direct me.

Well, today! I can proudly beat my chest and through the Inked Wisdom from above, say that I am a proud journalist! Graduated with a beautiful result and journalism since 2018 has been taking me places that I wouldn’t even be able to enter even as a lawyer!
For those of you, whom by chance or circumstances found yourself doing something that wasn’t your initial plan, always remember that man proposes and God disposes.

Whatever your hand finds doing, do it with all your hear to the glory of God.
